This holiday season, I’m committed to making your holiday shopping as easy as possible! This guide includes M & M resource ideas for all the teacher friends on your list, and maybe even for you! 😉 Don’t forget that you can save on all of these resources with the upcoming Cyber Monday/Tuesday sales here on my website and on TpT! The sale discount code is CYBER19 and it will save you 30% on all resources here on my website December 2-4. Use the bonus code BOGO to save big on bundles here on my website.
Did you know that you can earn more points and save more money by shopping on my website? When you create an account, you can store and access your resources whenever you need them. You earn points when you purchase AND when you leave feedback (that’s more than TpT!). However, if you prefer to shop on TpT, I will include TpT links at the bottom of this post.
Since the last big sale last August, I’ve been hard at work creating new materials! Here are descriptions and links to my newest resources.
The “Planned For Me” resource line for Benchmark Advance teachers: This line of resources is for several grade levels and includes filled out planning templates for each week, notes and extension ideas for each unit, and a digital anchor chart for each concept!
Holiday Crossword Puzzles (With Task Card Riddles): These crossword puzzles are student faves! Display the riddles around the room, and students visit each one to solve and record the answer on their crossword puzzles. Reading, writing, critical thinking, and collaboration all at once!
Digital Thinking Maps: I recently revamped these and gave them a complete makeover! I added several more slides, and color coded the slides by category: spelling, vocabulary, writing, and reading skills. These are perfect to assign as a technology center task during small groups, or you can even print them out if you want kids to complete them on paper/pencil.
Small Group Visual Timers: I created these to help manage small group rotations. They are pre-set timers that slowly fill with color and end with a chime. Just set them and forget them and let them automatically keep your small groups on track.
High-Frequency Word Practice for Kindergarten and first grade teachers: These align to Benchmark Advance’s words, but they can be used in any K & 1st grade classroom. They have practice for all of the major sight words.
First Grade Word Problem Pack: This is a differentiated pack of addition and subtraction word problems, which require students to use multiple strategies. It is a companion to the children’s book, Pigeon Math, written by Asia Citro and illustrated by Richard Watson.
Benchmark Advance Digital Unit Opener Questions: These are digital Google Slides that have a question for each day that relate to the unit’s overall theme. There are a total of 150 completed digital and are fully editable questions. You can use these as a daily warm-up or a literacy center task.
“Class Apps” Digital Projects: These are fun digital projects that are meant to simulate apps on a smartphone. There are different apps for each component of the project, and when students click on the app, it links them to that part of the project! I have them for an animal report and a famous inventor report, and I made a “classroom hub” edition for teachers to use as an innovative communication tool with parents!
Digital Jeopardy Games: These are SO FUN to use as a review! There are 20 editable questions & answers. The main game board includes clickable numbers that take you to a question. The questions get harder the higher the number! There are games for: animal adaptations, inventors and inventions, and weather and climate.
Benchmark Advance Spelling Tests: These are not like your traditional, old-school spelling tests. These tests assess the week’s words using similar testing language to that of the Benchmark and state tests. Students are tested on the spelling patterns. Currently available for third grade; other grades coming soon!
Fly Your Fractions (Fraction Kite): This is an all-time best seller, with over 1,000 four-star reviews. It can be used in grades 2-5 as a basic fraction and art activity. It includes vocabulary cards and a writing connection, and the finished product creates an amazing bulletin display!
Response to Reading Question Strips: These question strips are great for getting students to respond to what they’re reading. They pull out a strip (from either the nonfiction or fiction options), and then answer it using whatever they read as a basis for their response. This is a prep-once resource that you can leave as a literacy center all year long, and it is available in both English and Spanish.
The Big Cheese: The Big Cheese is a year-long writing routine that teaches structure and organization, paragraph writing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It is guided but STUDENT-led. This daily routine also fosters a sense of classroom community as a new student from the class is highlighted each week.
Social & Emotional Challenges for Students: Implemented in over 250 classrooms, these challenges are a way for students to practice life skills that foster social and emotional growth. The challenges focus on interacting with friends, family, and nature. They promote the spread of kindness and a sense of giving. These are great for social and emotional learning (SEL).
Mentor Text Writing Prompts: These are a collection of writing prompts that are companions to familiar and popular mentor texts. The books are all different genres and the writing prompts require students to write in a variety of text types and purposes. These are popular because they teach students to write to a source and incorporate text evidence, but in a very engaging way.
For the Benchmark Advance Teacher
Close Reading Companions: “A game-changer!” These are a way for students to make the connection between the reading strategy/skill taught in your minilessons to how the strategy may look in the form of a test question. Each page includes a graphic organizer and an “Apply It!” test question. These can be used during whole group or as a center activity. Print individually or give to students as a booklet.
Grade Level Bundles: These bundles include everything you need to get BA running smoothly in your classroom. It includes small group resources for word word and reading comprehension, and it includes resources to help guide your weekly writing. These are available for grades 1-6.
