Markers and Minions is proud to team up with teachers who love sharing their passions! In collaboration, our goal is to provide teachers with support, advice, and tips in order to help teachers teach at their very best. We share teacher-led professional development strategies that are both practical and realistic.
Toluca Rivers founded Markers and Minions in 2013 as a creative outlet. It has since grown into a support system for thousands of teachers from around the world. Toluca is passionate about creating teaching resources and collaborating with other teachers. In her classroom, individual learning styles and needs are nurtured. She enjoys a collaborative classroom where students are engaging in academic discussion and moving around. You can always find a colorful, interactive anchor chart hanging in her classroom.
Simone Vega is a third grade teacher who is passionate about teaching math. She holds a Master’s Degree in Math Education. Simone strives to create a student-centered learning environment and makes math engaging for her students by doing room transformations, holding classroom competitions, and incorporating art and technology into her math lessons. You can learn different strategies and tips from her in the Markers and Minions Teacher Community Facebook group.
Jeremy Crowe is a fourth grade teacher in Chicago who is dedicated to developing and creatively integrating social and emotional learning into others’ lives. Self-awareness, personal accountability, and empathy are the staples of Jeremy’s classroom and can be seen in the many activities and joyful management systems he has mindfully created for his students over the years. Everyone knows that our classrooms can often feel as equally stressful as they are joyful, but little help exists on how to overcome the stressful moments to create a more joyful experience for your students and yourself. Join Jeremy to learn different classroom management strategies and mindful tips from him in the Markers and Minions Teacher Community Facebook group.
