These will align with Benchmark Advance, but can also be used independently with other curriculums. Each unit has 3 weeks of lessons, organized by a range of ELA skills. These can be used as homework, morning work, early finisher activities, or extra practice. Which Editions of Benchmark Advance Does this Align to?
This is loosely aligned with all editions. We looked over the lessons from all editions firstly, and then chose the skills that overlapped. Because of this, you may not see every single exact lesson from your edition.
How are these different from the Close Reading Companions?
These are independent lessons based on the minilessons skills/strategies. They do not accompany the close reading lessons as the CRCs do. They would offer additional practice on some of the skills/strategies taught in Benchmark Advance.
Do I need to use Benchmark Advance to use these?
No, these lessons are based on the skills/strategies taught in Benchmark Advance but those skills are also taught in other curriculums. They are organized by strategy/skill, so you could find the one that corresponds to the lessons you are teaching.
